El Tepual is located in the Región de Los Lagos, in the south of Chile, and is the third airport in Chile, with 2 million passengers every year.
The concession company (Sacyr Concesiones and Agunsa) has invested €34 million to renovate the facilities and expand them by nearly 6,000 square meters.
Among other actions, the expansion includes a new boarding bridge, the enlargement of the aircraft parking apron, and a new control tower
To enhance comfort for airport users, diverse assistance services for people with reduced mobility have been added, as well as podotactile accessible routes and a major number of seats in the boarding lounge.
This expansion will increase the airport capacity to 3 million passengers every year, which will improve the national and international position of the El Tepual airport as an entryway to the south of Chile and its island, Patagonian and Antarctic regions.
