Great success at our Sustainable Supplier program!

Nearly half of our supply chain has signed up to the program that will make it easier for them to implement sustainable practices into their activities.

We have once again participated in the III edition of the Sustainable Suppliers program to collaborate in their transition to more sustainable business models. This year, 43% of our suppliers have completed the training, a percentage that adds to those of the other 48 large companies that have promoted sustainability training in their respective supply chains.

The Sustainable Supplier Training Program of the UN Global Compact Spain, ICEX and Fundación ICO has facilitated the training of more than 2,300 SME suppliers from more than 72 countries.

This initiative was launched in 2023 with the aim of training SMEs suppliers of large companies in the key principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since its inception, the program has managed to train more than 5,000 supplier companies in the integration of sustainable practices in their business models.

This edition has stood out for the high level of satisfaction among participating SMEs, with 91% of them considering the training to have been useful for their company, underscoring the confidence and effectiveness of the initiative.

We are involved in helping people at risk

We attended a Fundación Rementería event and our volunteers accompanied members of Down Madrid to spend a day at Faunia.

On October 22nd, the Sacyr Foundation attended the event organized by the Rementería Foundation to thank volunteers and collaborating companies, like us, for their involvement and commitment.

The event featured two very special presentations. On the one hand, Marta Arce, Paralympic judoka with three Olympic medals, shared her inspiring story of overcoming, effort and sporting values. On the other, Jota, triathlete and motivational speaker, spoke about how sport can transform lives and promote inclusion. Both moved the audience with their testimonies full of strength and hope.

The Rementería Foundation collaborates to ensure that the greatest number of people at risk of exclusion can have a quality ophthalmological service and fight against the lack of opportunities in the Community of Madrid and Colombia.

Volunteering at Faunia with Down Madrid

On Saturday, October 25, 15 Sacyr employees, accompanied by their families, participated in a day of volunteering at Faunia with boys and girls from Down Madrid. It was a day full of joy, learning and connection, in which they were able to enjoy the animals together and share unique moments.

These activities reinforce Sacyr's commitment to inclusion and family volunteering.

The Sacyr Foundation has been recognized by the Food Bank Foundation of Madrid as one of the outstanding companies for its collaboration and solidarity, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the entity, celebrated in 2024.

The award was collected by our colleague Esther Moral on October 29th at the headquarters of this Madrid-based organization. A year's work for those affected by the heavy rains

At Sacyr and the Sacyr Foundation, we have made an effort to help the people who suffered from the floods in Valencia and Albacete on October 29, 2024. We share how we have done it.

On October 29, 2024, thousands of people were affected by the floods caused by the heavy rains and subsequent floods that affected Albacete and Valencia (Spain). Both Sacyr and the Sacyr Foundation have promoted initiatives, and we have joined others, to help the population and the reconstruction of this area.

Solidarity began with our professionals, who, in collaboration with the Sacyr Foundation, donated more than 52,000 euros to those affected. The Red Cross was responsible for transforming this money into work on the ground to alleviate the effects of the storm.

In addition, our colleagues in the UK, together with several contractors, donated three pumps to the Catarroja fire department to remove sewage, a pressing problem after the rains.

Sacyr Agua professionals worked to repair high-pressure equipment damaged by the storm and to restore the water supply to homes in the affected area. We also sent cleaning trucks to Paiporta, at ground zero of the disaster, to unblock the sewage network, which was flooded by mud.

Aid to five entities

The Board of Trustees of the Sacyr Foundation has attended to the existing needs in the disaster area during 2025 and has approved aid to five associations: Casa Caridad, Educo, Fundación Colisée, Red Acoge and FEVADIS.

We recently visited the Educo Foundation and the Colisée Foundation to see in situ the work they carry out. Educo provides a safe space for children, adolescents, their families and the entire community in the most affected areas to whom it offers psychological support, school reinforcement, training, and legal and social advice to facilitate their integral development.

The drought affected more than 163,000 schoolchildren and left 90 public schools directly impacted, 12 of which were in a critical situation. We also collaborated with the Colisée Foundation, which assists elderly people affected by the floods. It is working on the reconstruction of their homes and the acquisition of essential items to improve their quality of life.

During the visit, we had the opportunity to hear the moving testimony of Dolores, who lost everything that October 29: her home, her personal belongings, household goods, documentation, furniture.... "Thanks to the Sacyr Foundation I have been able to fix my house and now I will need time to make it mine. I have lost everything and now I need to rebuild my life", Dolores explained to our Foundation partner.

The Sacyr Foundation has cooperated with Colisée to rebuild her home.

We're back from the summer eager to help!

In September and October, our volunteers were able to participate in multiple activities such as the Down Madrid Race, the Emalaikat flea market or the Musicians for Health day at the Henares Hospital, among others.

On Saturday, October 4, we participated in the Together4Integration Solidarity Race with the Diálogos Foundation, and on Sunday, October 5, the Sacyr Foundation, together with the Sports Club, organized the Down Madrid Race. Together, we totaled 15,175 kilometers for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

On the other hand, we collaborated with the Emalaikat Foundation in a flea market with new African handicrafts on October 9, 10 and 11 in Madrid.

Also, as every month, our volunteers went to the Manos de Ayuda Social canteen in Paracuellos del Jarama (Madrid) to prepare bags of food for people in vulnerable situations.

And, like last year, we have launched the volunteer program "Heroes at Home" by Freno al Ictus Foundation, with a training session that we offered on September 25. This initiative transforms Sacyr employees into everyday heroes, capable of stopping and detecting stroke. You will be able to give awareness talks in educational centers after receiving the training.

Also on October 9, we visited the Henares Hospital in Madrid, where the NGO Musicians for Health offered a concert for hospitalized patients.

We collaborate with an association for cerebral palsy in Navarre

The Sacyr Foundation collaborates with ASPACE, an association that meets the needs of children with cerebral palsy and related disabilities.

The Sacyr Foundation collaborates with ASPACE Navarra through the SAOR program, a welcome, orientation and rehabilitation service, whose mission is to be the meeting and welcome point for people with cerebral palsy and related disabilities and their families.

It is aimed at both children and adults with different brain injuries (both paralysis and multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Acquired Brain Injury, etc).

ASPACE Navarra stands out among other things because they are pioneers in Spain in carrying out the Petö Method. This system originated in Hungary, integrates different educational and pedagogical strategies in the field of neurorehabilitation, which is characterized by an attention focused on the person and in each specific case (super personalized attention).

From this service they guide, inform and advise families, thus favoring social, educational, welfare, labor integration and other aspects.

To carry out the rehabilitation, they develop physical activity for the motor maintenance of the person, both for activities of daily living and for cognitive stimulation.

We welcome an assistance puppy from DogPoint

For the next year, our colleague Santiago de Santiago and his family will take care of Horchata, an assistance dog that will help children with autism.

One of our colleagues at Condesa de Venadito, Santiago de Santiago (Sacyr Concesiones), has taken in as a volunteer one of the assistance dogs of DogPoint, an Sacyr Foundation partner organization.

For a year, Santiago and his family will take care of Horchata, a Labrador almost three months old, with the aim of collaborating in her education as an assistance dog for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

DogPoint is an organization formed by professionals, freelancers and volunteers who work to improve the welfare of children and their families.

From the Sacyr Foundation we support this work by taking charge of the maintenance and health care of these dogs, which will accompany the children in their daily lives to facilitate their family life and their integration into society.

Breast cancer already has a survival rate of 85%

On the occasion of the celebration of Breast Cancer Day on October 19, we were able to connect online to the Breast Cancer Prevention Talk offered by the AECC.

On October 19 we celebrated Breast Cancer Day to highlight that this pathology is the most frequent in the female population. Dr. Estíbaliz García, head of the prevention and health department of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), a Sacyr Foundation partner organization, gave this online talk open to Sacyr employees.

The doctor explained that the AECC invests almost €23 million in breast cancer research projects. It also offers free services for 18,000 patients and their families.

In Spain almost 36,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024. The survival rate is 85% if the diagnosis is early. If it is metastatic, this percentage drops to 29%. Mammography after the age of 45 is the most reliable method of prevention. Breastfeeding is a relevant protective factor against breast cancer, especially if it lasts more than one year, as the doctor explained in her talk.

However, these percentages drop if lifestyle habits are bad. Smoking, alcohol, a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet lower survival rates.

We learn how to act in the face of stroke with the "Heroes at Home" volunteer program

Freno al Ictus Foundation has given an awareness-raising talk to 13 Sacyr professionals as part of the "Héroes en Casa" (Heroes at Home) program.

Freno al Ictus Foundation has given an awareness talk as part of the "Heroes at Home" program, aimed at future volunteers who will visit schools to teach children how to recognize the symptoms of a stroke and how to respond to them.

The workshop was led by Julio Agredano, chair of the foundation, who shared key information about this disease and the importance of a rapid response.

The session was attended by 13 volunteers from the Sacyr Foundation, who joined this initiative with the aim of training young people as prevention agents in their homes. Warning signs such as loss of strength, difficulty in speaking or falling on one side of the face were addressed, and how to report it immediately to an adult or call 112.

With "Heroes at Home", Freno al Ictus seeks to create a network of informed children who can save lives at home, reinforcing the social commitment to brain health and preventive education from an early age.
