We launched the Food Bank 'Operation Kilo' in early December to promote the fundraising campaign in this season to hand out food to people at risk of social exclusion. This time, we have raised nearly €5,000, which can buy 4,493 kg of food.
In the past months we had also launched a campaign to collect oil, that raised €2,935. These donations will be distributed among many organizations and active Food Bank users. This entails 566 organizations that hand out meals daily to over 181,000 people in care homes, soup kitchens, assistance activities, etc. 7,440 of them are breastfeeding children.
In December, Sacyr people have participated in the toy donation campaign that collected over 100 presents for children at risk of social exclusion. At the Sacyr Foundation we are committed to celebrating a solidary Christmas, and for that reason, every year we turn to give the youngest the gift of joy.
Sacyr employees were most giving, and they have filled the offices with presents that will be handed to the children users of Juventudes Hospitalarias de Parla. Fundación Todo Ayuda is the organization in charge of organizing the presents handover, and they said: “The joy of the children when they get their presents is indescribable. Thanks a lot to everyone at Sacyr for making this possible”.
