The northern region of Kenya, where Fundación Emalaikat’s work is focused, is seriously affected by drought. Having water to grow food for the inhabitants or nomads of this region is a hard task, which is why the Sacyr Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement to build a well.
With this development, water is extracted from the well and taken to a water tank, and from there, is distributed through piping to tap points. This type of infrastructure greatly improves the quality of life of the people in the region. By applying photovoltaic technology, this project also takes advantage of the sun as an available power source.
Thanks to this improvement, the community was able to grow a garden and sell food in the local markets.
Also in cooperation with Fundación Emalaikat, we have intervened in the Kokuselei area for the development of a healthcare plan with medical staff to attend emergencies.
In that same line, we backed food, water and healthcare plans to help the new medical staff to vaccinate children and monitor their condition, as well as pregnant women.
