A group of Sacyr volunteers collected 45 kg of litter at the Espacio Verde Periurbano – Parque La Cantera (Madrid). In the litter collected they found urban waste like glass, paper, plastics and organic waste.
The Sacyr Foundation subscribes project Libera, by SEOBird Life and Ecoembes. This project aims to collect huge amounts of litter found in natural environments:
- Plastic: the most used material and the most found in litter. 8 million tons of plastic end up in the oceans internationally.
- Cigarette butts: 6 billion cigarettes: 4.5 billion cigarette butts found.
- Cunetas: pocos datos, litter under 10 cm in size (cigarette butts, paper, plastics)
- Toilets: used as a disposal way for small-sized waste.
