On May 11th, the volunteers visited a farm in the Sierra de Madrid with members of the Down Foundation. There, guided by a farmer, they explored an organic garden that grows seasonal produce using traditional methods.
They learned about each type of crop, even planted lettuce and tomatoes, and had the chance to buy the garden's produce.
Additionally, on May 25th, they attended a workshop for building nest boxes for small birds along with Gaiambiente and the SEO BirdLife Association. They also had the opportunity to place the boxes on trees using a pole.
On another note, as they do every Monday, on May 20th, the recurring kitchen volunteer activity took place at the Manos de Ayuda Social Association’s facilities in Paracuellos del Jarama (Madrid).
Our volunteers help prepare food, chop ingredients, and organize food bags so the Association can distribute them to families in need.
