Thanks to the collaboration between the Sacyr Foundation and Ayuda en Acción, we have been working with communities in the Jequetepeque Basin (Peru) on their beekeeping productions since 2021.
Both institutions have collaborated on a program aimed at strengthening the value chain of Apiandina, a cooperative of 160 beekeepers from the Jequetepeque Basin. The project has been implemented in 21 populated centers and 8 districts across the provinces of San Miguel, San Pablo, Contumazá, and Cajamarca.
As a result of this effort, beekeepers achieved an average of 13 kg of honey per campaign and producer, and a processing plant has been established that will produce around 8,800 kg of honey annually.
Ayuda en Acción – Peru has chosen to highlight this initiative in its 2023 Annual Report, a document that compiles the organization's achievements and progress over the past year. Its preparation was conducted according to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards, which define the impact of companies in social, environmental, and economic areas.
Jose Carlos Antón, Communications Manager in Peru, was present as a panelist at the report presentation, where he highlighted some of the most enriching aspects of the initiative.
