In the Montes de María region, Colombia, the Sacyr Foundation has begun to collaborate with the non-profit, Mamachama, which focus its efforts in women’s empowerment and specially brings attention to women victims of armed conflict, by helping them to be socially and financially independent. We have collaborated with these women, members of “Mujeres innovadoras del campo” organization to buy machinery to make cassava flour. They grow cassava root and later pound it into flour to sell, and thus strengthen women’s independence.
