A group of volunteers from the Sacyr Foundation collaborated with Fundación Ayuda en Acción in the 1Planet4all program, a project to raise awareness about climate change.
During this one-day initiative promoted by the European Commission, a group of young professionals between the ages of 25 and 35 participated in an awareness-raising workshop on the current social and environmental crisis motivated by climate change. As part of this workshop, they visited the facilities of Fundación Bobath, a non-profit working with people affected by cerebral palsy, to plant some seeds with this organization’s users. They also helped construct some bird houses, install watering systems, and build a worktable.
This ecogarden is bearing fruit and flowers, vegetables, and different medicinal and aromatic herbs are thriving. The folks at Bobath tell us that the 55 users in Madrid have already had the chance to enjoy the seasonal goods from the garden, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, and peppers.
