From November 18 to 24, we celebrated the 3rd Sacyr Foundation Week, brimming with activities such as volunteering, charity markets, awards ceremonies, a Sacyr Band concert, a guitar auction, and a raffle for a trip to the Caribbean.
Throughout the week, we engaged with our teams and collaborators in various initiatives aimed at sharing and showcasing the impactful work carried out by the Sacyr Foundation.
This year, all proceeds from these activities were donated to Fundación Hogar Sí-Fundación RAIS.
Highlights of the week included a charity auction for an acoustic guitar donated by our colleague Rafael Buendía and signed by Gonzalo Valdivia, guitarist of the renowned Spanish rock band Héroes del Silencio. The highest bidder, Manuel Soto, proudly took it home.
Rafael was also a member of the Sacyr Band, comprising Sacyr employees who performed a charity concert last Thursday at the Irish Corner pub in Madrid. The band played popular hits, accompanied by friends and colleagues, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
At our corporate offices in Madrid, located at Condesa de Venadito and Juan Esplandiú, we hosted solidarity markets in collaboration with several organizations we are privileged to support year-round.
As is tradition, our colleagues actively participated in various volunteer efforts, collaborating with associations such as Manos de Ayuda Social, Adopta Un Abuelo, Fundación Jero, Fundación A LA PAR, Gaiambiente-SEO Birdlife, and Grace Campus (USA and Canada).
We also took the opportunity to honor our most dedicated collaborators, whose generosity enables the Sacyr Foundation to continue its mission. Pedro Alonso Ruiz, Executive Director of the Sacyr Foundation, alongside the rest of the team, presented awards to volunteers, organizations, and partners to express gratitude for their efforts in making the world a better place.
Another enriching activity was a talk on Eating Disorders organized with the FITA Foundation. Psychologist Raquel Linares and volunteer Paula Almudévar shared their expertise and personal experiences, offering valuable insights into this condition.
Finally, the Sacyr Foundation organized a charity raffle for a trip for two to the Caribbean (departing from Madrid), exclusively for Sacyr employees.
